Simplicity, wit and humor usually lead the way in my approach to illustrations, drawings and design. I sketch habitually but Inktober – a tradition among artists worldwide to create a daily ink drawing throughout the month of October – is a particularly active period.
A recent couple of sketches that I was interested in developing further were of a silly little dog. He is called Damien and lacks the features of a typical dog, but his personality and character mimics that of the many dogs that I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with. Damien is simply an homage to all the dogs in the world and the joy they bring to our lives.
Besides the Damien Series, this portfolio section features other miscellaneous character illustrations and sketches that have poured out of my mind in recent years.
